Pulse hot pressure soldering also known as Haba soldering, is referred to as Haba machine (HotBar soldering) in the industry. However, most people in the industry commonly call it simply: Haba (HotBar). The principle of HotBar is as follows: first, the solder paste is printed on the circuit board (PCB). After passing through the reflow oven, the solder paste is melted and pre-soldered on the circuit board. Then, the object to be soldered (usually FPC) is placed on the circuit board that has been printed with the solder paste. Subsequently, the hot pressing head is utilized. The heat generated will melt the solder and connect the two electronic components that need to be connected. Because a long thermal head is employed to solder the flat object to be soldered (usually FPC) on the circuit board, it is named HotBar. HotBar is typically used to solder a flexible board (FPC) on the PCB, enabling the achievement of the goals of being light, thin, short, and small. In addition, the cost can be effectively reduced as 1 to 2 flexible board connectors can be dispensed with. The principle of the general HotBar hot press machine and the Haba machine is to utilize the substantial Joule heat generated when a pulse current (pulse) passes through materials with high resistance properties like molybdenum and titanium to heat the hot press head (thermodes/heater tip). Then, the solder paste already on the PCB is heated and melted by the thermal head to attain the purpose of mutual welding. Since it is heated by a pulse, the control of the energy and time of the pulse is of great significance. The control method involves using the thermocouple circuit at the front end of the thermal indenter to feed back the temperature of the thermal indenter to the power control center in real time, thereby controlling the signal of the pulse to ensure the accuracy of the temperature on the thermal head.
